The History of Trams at the Nedlands Library
Wham, bam – it’s the history of trams!
All aboard! Find out how tramlines put Nedlands on the map at a free event on March 1.
1st March 2018
Nedlands Library, 60-64 Stirling Highway, Nedlands.
David Brown, from the Perth Electric Tramway Society, will share his fascination with this mode of transport and its impact on the community at Nedlands Library from 10.30am-11.30am.
Broadway was originally designed to accommodate traffic alongside the new tramline through the bush from Subiaco to the Nedlands Baths while other lines went along the Perth-Fremantle Road and around Mounts Bay Road.
David is a motorman on the Whiteman Park trams and author of the 2010 book Tracks by the Swan, a comprehensive history of the Perth trams and trolley buses.
